great deals at walmart

today i got some great deals at walmart using my coupons. lance crackers which sell for $2.00 had a $1.00 coupon taped to the front of them making them only $1.oo.  i also used a $1.00 cascade coupon to get a trial pack of the product.  earthbound carrots were .68 and i had $1.oo coupon. and one cat food by purina was $2.57 and i had a $2.00 off coupon. all in all a pretty good spur of the moment trip.

walgreens has an awesome deal. hot pockets are on sale 2 for $3, plus their is a coupon in their august coupon booklet for $1 off plus their was a coupon in sunday's paper.  so today with coupons and the sale i got 3 boxes of hot pockets for $2. less then the price of one box, which is normally 2.99

tooday was laundry day, so while the clothes were washing i decided to go to cvs, and boy am i glad i did. they had some phenomenal savings. the following is what i got---------------
            1 seven piece hair tie kit was 3.99 on clearance for .99
             1 denture bath (not for me) was 2.69 on clearance for .67
            1 water jet power brush for outside was 19.99 on clearance for 1.99
FOR A TOTAL SAVINGS OF 23.02.

earthquake

at 1:50 today a magnitude 5.9 earthquake hit virginia with tremors being felt from ny to massachussetts, ohio, tennessee and the carolinas. the quake interrupted a press conference that was about to be held announcing the dismissal of charges against dominique strauss-kahn. the pentagon was being evacuated as a safety precaution. so far no reports of any injuries.

there is no excuse to abuse animals ever!!!!!!!!!!!!! no matter the circumstance.  today the cops and animal rescue were called on the couple who lives on the end of my street. they had been beating and whipping their boxer dog with a belt.  this poor dog is left out in all kinds of weather with no food or water. the cops and humane society has been called many many times and yet this couple still retains ownership of the dog. according to officers- animals are not people but "property". how sad is that. this animal  has no one to protect and defend it and now also has no rights unless it lay bloody and beaten on the ground. what a ridiculous law. truly ridiculous

bad food service

I usually don't like to complain about the restaurant business or the people who are in it.  because i am in it. well today i just had a very unsatisfying experience at bill gray's on 869 east ridge road in rochester.  going in i was very excited because i had been told that they had the best vegetarian burgers around. so i decided to give them a try. the cashier/ order taker stood talking to his dad and when it was our turn to order he just walked away without saying a word.  3 or 4 minutes later a very unhappy woman came out to take our order. after we sat for about 10 minutes we were paged that our food was ready.  my companion went up to the counter and was told by yet another miserable worker.  "here's your food" and the tray was shoved at him.  i really hate to say anything bad because this is a hard industry to be in. but when every person you encounter is unhappy/ unpleasant it just does not bode for a good meal.  i give the visit 1 star out of 4 and would be hard pressed to ever return.

i love cheap and poorly acted movies. i have no shame it admitting that.  so last night i went to my redbox with another fifty cent text coupon and saw the human centipede.  it looked like my kind of film.  i am only going to say one thing  NEVER EVER EVER WATCH THIS MOVIE

so last night i had a text coupon from redbox for fifty cents off a movie so i figured....eh... for fifty cents i can watch the remake of arthur with russell brand, helen mirren and jennifer garner.  It wan't bad.  i have seen far far worse movies.  Russell Brand has a charm and humor all his own.  I would say if you are just looking for something light and fluffy to watch then this is your movie to rent.

13 more days till my baby kitties go to the vets to be fixed.  The only reason I mention this is because I want to give a big old shoutout to ROCHESTER ANIMAL SERVICES.  I was quoted a price in the hundreds of dollars at different vets.  As fate would have it, I went to the Park Ave fest this year and met two great people from RAS.  (wish I had gotten their names).  They helped me out and for less than a hundred dollars I am able to get both kitties spaded.  Thank you RAS.  Please check out their website.  They really do make a difference.

ok be honest.  who doesn't love cvs? they have the best deals.  if you go to the coupon generator this week you can two great coupons.  one for a free box of bandaids and one for a caramello candy bar.  (they were out so the nice cashier let me pick another one.)  this is an awesome store with great deals.

movies, movies, movies

In the past two days I have watched the movies The Conspirator and Limitless.  Both were very good especially the conspirator.  If you love history, this movie will do it for you.  James MacAvoy and Robin Wright gave such good performances.  I was enthralled.  As a bonus, if you are a fan of True Blood see if you can recognize any familiar faces.

Limitless was also very good.  Action, drama, adventure.  this movie had it all.  And who doesn't love Robert De Niro??????????????????????????????????
